Define Your Success with Virtual Jobs From Home

Become: Virtual Assistant
Have you watched The Social Network? That movie is quite inspiring. I know it makes me want to wrack my brain for a business idea. But then again, I already do wrack my brain for ideas...for business. The movie just gave me a nod, saying I'm going in the right direction.
And that's just it. Once you know that you need to do what you need to do, you do it.
A few years ago, I quit my good paying job. I liked that job. It was cerebral, I was kept busy, but most of all, I was really doing well helping my clients with disabilities get employment. It was very satisfying. No job is perfect, and I never expect it to be. I wish I could have hired my own co-workers, and management, for that job. It's amazing how a few people you work with, or even a couple, or just one, can really dampen a job you love. Anyways...
I had the opportunity to take an entrepreneurial business program. I wanted to take what I was doing at my full-time job, and do it for ME. The business program I was in taught me how to start a Virtual Assistant business.
Once I got the taste of being able to do WHAT I wanted to do be doing, WHEN I wanted to do it, HOW I wanted to go about it, WHERE I wanted to work, WHO I wanted to help out, knowing the WHY was easy.
Unless you have PASSION and some direction, you will remain stuck. Unless you put ACTION behind your ideas and learning, you will remain stuck. As long as you focus on what you can't do, rather than on what you CAN, you won't be getting where you want to go anytime soon.
Sure it was nice to have a lofty goal of getting rich. I just didn't want to deal with lazy-ass (pardon-me) co-workers, and unprofessional managers. That alone was enough motivation! So making my own hours, creating my own work projects, and putting in as much effort or as little as I wanted to do for the week - these were all just perks. So was having the luxury of taking lunch when you want to, not wasting time doing a commute everyday, and working independently.
Don't think about getting rich. You will just get overwhelmed. Start small. Think about what you want to DO. Have a FOCUS. Think about WHO you would like to assist. Think WHY you want to work for yourself. Think WHAT you want to do from home. Think HOW you want to go about things. Think WHERE you want to begin.
Don't Think WHEN. Start now.
You may not be able to quit your rat race. But knowing that you have OPTIONS will make your days go by a lot better. You may be thinking about finances, and that's okay. Be happy that working at home requires little start-up costs. Get some support around you. Who is your biggest cheerleader? Who can you share your ideas and plans with? Will they cheer lead right along with you, or do they refuse to even dance.
Working for yourself is like a dance. First, you don't even know the steps. But you know you need steps. Second, you know you can dance alone, so that's not a problem. But who will your audience be? You can't say your mirror, 'cause your mirror doesn't pay. ;) (Yes, even if you are good looking! ;) Third, do you want to make dancing your hobby or your career? Depending on how seriously you want to take learning those steps, and getting into the groove, determines how hard you need to work to mastering the dance. Just like in business...
Nobody can tell you what virtual jobs at home would be best for you, because that person is not you. What works for somebody else may not work for you. People have different passions and different things that motivate them to get the job done. You need to do the research to figure out what you like, and what you think you can do. When you like what you are doing, you have drive.
When you have drive, the money follows.
Success for me is defined by doing what I love every day. Success for me is something simple as feeling like I'm putting effort into my OWN business. My OWN future. I know the money will come. I have the energy, and I have the determination. Knowing that I WANT to be successful with what I'm doing, and having realistic goals along the way, will get me to where I want to be.
Success for me isn't defined by a million buckaroos, not even by 6 figures. Heck, even a few thousand I wouldn't take for granted! Success for me is following my own dreams. Not the plans others had for me. Not the dreams others have for me.
Waking up excited to work on my own projects for the day is plenty of success for me.
How do you define your success?

Being a Virtual Office Assistant is About Making Your Dreams a Reality

You know that feeling that takes over you, when you just know that having a virtual work place is the right thing? Despite other people questioning, "How?" You know that getting involved in online Virtual Assistant jobs is the right answer.
For many reasons, people may sabotage your dreams of doing well for yourself. They may think your dream is impossible or foolish. Chalk it up to their own insecurities - their lack of trust in themselves, so their lack of faith in you. What better ammunition to have then getting out there and proving them wrong.
But honestly, you should be given a chance to make your virtual work place dreams a reality. Do take people's advice into consideration, especially the needs of your family. Just know, when people share their own negative experiences, you are a completely separate person that can achieve different, if not better, outcomes.
The key is to focus on your vision. Their will be production roadblocks. There will be naysayers. There will be financial set-backs. You name it. But if you really want what you want, you must persevere. In the face of challenges, you need to take it as a positive learning experience and move forward.
I'm not saying throw all caution to the wind, 'cause come on, you still have to have a mindful and realistic financial plan. Investing is time and money, and about taking risk, but not a careless risk. In terms of feeling like giving up, or feeling overwhelmed, or rejected, you should understand that ALL successful people that work for themselves had to pick-up, brush-off, and persevere in the name of pursuing their goals.
Being an entrepreneur takes guts. Look at Mark Zuckerberg who took the risk and 'consequences' of going against school sanctions, or those twins, to get ahead with his goal. He was so focused, he let nothing stand in his way.
Whether it's that annoying boss you want to get away from, or the luxury of making up your own time schedule, or the gratitude you feel knowing that your work does indeed make a difference, it's action that counts.
You can't sit there and wonder why you aren't getting anywhere to become: Virtual Assistant, when you aren't doing anything to propel you and your business forward. Learning is fun and all that, and gives you a great base in which to work from, but learning in and of itself does nothing to bring the dough in. You need to APPLY what you learn. You need to be implementing action everyday towards your virtual work place.
If you want to understand it more concretely, consider that you should be learning 70% and DOING 30%. Thomas Edison wasn't just a brainiac, he applied and tweaked and problem-solved, and repeated the process. He was hands-on, until his light-bulb worked (pun intended). The light-bulb in his mind was always there, but no one could see it, until HE could see it. He had to BUILD. He never 'got it' on the first try. Who knows how many concepts and trials and tribulations it took him, but it was worth it. He had a vision and never gave up.
Wonder why a routine is called a routine? 'Cause it doesn't work. If you're looking for progression, a routine will keep you where you're at. If you're finding you are stuck in a routine, you need to break-through from this, especially if you have a serious interest in virtual jobs at home. To get unstuck, you have to start understanding who you really are and what you really want. And really narrowing down your choices.
When you are faced with too many decisions, you become confused, and confusion leads to 'paralyzed' decision-making. When you can't make a decision, you are stuck. It's important to think things through, narrow your focus, make your decision, and RUN with it. Remember, you can always tweak your plans and goals as you move forward.
How do you make a virtual work place decision anyway?
You have to assess and get a clear picture of your skills, values and interests.
Then you want to compare that insight to the types of virtual jobs at home that are out there - then CHOOSE.
And if you're the type to sit around and wait for the good 'ole eureka moment. Well, I have a eureka moment for you right now. EUREKA ain't visiting anytime soon! You have to get your mind out of the clouds. You have to CREATE your own eureka moments. You do this by learning. And learning will arrive from trial and error of doing new things. Sticking to what you're comfortable with, and to what you already know how to do, keeps you stale. You want to get innovative, and you want to get strategic 'cause doing both will help you and your business start and GROW!
If you know what you need to do today, DO it!
If you don't know what you have to do today, DISCOVER and DO it!
You will feel oh so good when you are productive with your goals of how to start a Virtual Assistant business. And success begets success. The motivation to keep going with what you are wanting to set-up for yourself will be there 'cause you are taking the steps to make it happen. Progress towards something we badly want, always lifts our spirits. And you can't go wrong with that.
